2023Objective
Desserts with Ana needed a warm, inviting online presence that showcased the personality of a solo baker while making it easy for customers to browse products, place orders, and explore her recipes. Before this project, Ana managed most communication manually through messages and social media, which limited visibility and made it difficult for customers to discover her full range of desserts.
The goal was to build a modern website with an integrated shop, a recipe hub, and support Ana’s offline business operations with a Stripe POS workflow — giving her a professional platform, expanding her reach, and reducing daily manual work.
Process
The project began with a full review of Ana’s existing workflows and audience behavior. With most customers discovering her through social media, the website needed to feel simple, friendly, and easy to navigate, while also offering enough structure to support long-term growth.
Key steps included:
- Designing a clean, approachable interface that reflects the personal, handmade feel of Ana’s brand.
- Building a lightweight, easy-to-use online shop to enable direct dessert orders.
- Creating a recipe section with structured content to support organic search visibility and long-term SEO.
- Implementing mobile-first layouts and optimized images for fast browsing.
- Simplifying the navigation to make switching between shop, recipes, and contact seamless.
- Applying essential SEO fundamentals to boost local discoverability and dessert-related search performance.
Stripe POS Terminal Integration
To support Ana’s in-person sales and streamline her checkout workflow, a custom WordPress plugin was developed to connect Stripe POS terminals with her WooCommerce store. This plugin integrates physical card readers directly into the WordPress admin, allowing Ana to process payments seamlessly during events, pop-ups, or local pickups.
The plugin is available publicly on the WordPress plugin directory: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pos-terminals-integration-for-stripe/
This solution gave Ana a unified system for both online and offline sales, reduced manual bookkeeping, and improved the accuracy and consistency of her order management.
Results
The new Desserts with Ana website delivers a warm, professional experience that helps customers quickly find what they need — whether placing orders or exploring recipes. The integrated shop reduced manual order handling, while the recipe section opened a new channel for organic traffic. The Stripe POS plugin tied her online and offline sales together, giving her a smoother workflow and a more scalable digital foundation.
